CAID Concludes Two-Day Summer School on AI Engineering for Supercomputing
The Centre for AI & Big Data (CAID), Namal University Mianwali, successfully concluded its Two-Day Summer School on AI Engineering for Supercomputing, held on 29–30 August 2026.
The summer school brought together over 60 participants from 20 institutions across Pakistan. Students, faculty and researchers joined from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, COMSATS University Islamabad, FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Riphah International University, the University of Management and Technology Lahore, Pak-Austria Fachhochschule, the Virtual University of Pakistan, the University of Education, the University of Gujrat, the University of Layyah, the University of Mianwali and Namal University Mianwali, together with the National Electronics Complex of Pakistan (NECOP) and industry participation from Tronto Digits.
Over two days, participants worked hands-on on the Namal Supercomputing Facility, gaining practical experience across the AI and high performance computing stack, from working in a supercomputing environment through to the training, optimization and deployment of modern AI models.
Through such programmes, CAID continues to bring together academia, industry and national research organizations for collaboration in artificial intelligence and high performance computing.
