Evaluation of natural radioactivity and radiological hazards in water sample of Tounsa Sharif, South Punjab, Pakistan 28-May-2024 Radioactive material, especially Uranium, is very dangerous for human beings, creatures, and plants. It has been documented that the groundwater of the Dera Ghazi Khan Division in Punjab is contaminated with 238U. In this communication, the groundwater of the Tehsil Taunsa located at Indus River has been investigated.
Assessment of radiological indices and physiochemical characterization of sediments in Chashma Lake, Pakistan 18-Sep-2023 Twenty surface sediment samples were gathered from Chasma Lake, deciding the radionuclides 137Cs, 226Ra, 228Ra, 232Th, and 40K and their associated hazard indices.
An overview of the pressure- and strain-induced changes in the structural and optoelectronic properties of organometal halide perovskites 14-May-2022 Organometal halide perovskites (PVKs) have demonstrated their potential in photovoltaics in terms of higher photovoltaic efficiency, aiming to achieve the Shockly-Quieser limit of a single-junction solar cell
Dosimetric sensitivity of leaf width on volumetric modulated arc therapy plan quality: an objective approach 22-Mar-2022 Several authors investigated a dosimetric impact of leaf width on radiotherapy plan quality subjectively, and concluded that thinner leaf-width multileaf collimators (MLC) are beneficial because of their better coverage of clinically relevant structures. Study aimed to investigate the dosimetric effect of MLC leaf width on volumetric modulated arc therapy plan quality by objective approach.
Radiological risk assessment in sediment of Namal Lake, Mianwali, Pakistan 25-Feb-2022 his study is concentrated on the radiological risk assessment of sixteen surface sediment samples recovered from Namal Lake, District Mianwali, Punjab, Pakistan. The activity of 137Cs, 40 K, 226Ra, 228Ra, and 232Th was carried out with the help of a high purity germanium detector (HPGe) in the sediment, varied in the ranges of > 0.02–3.73 ± 1.31, 98.32 ± 21.45–341.02 ± 58.67, 18.34 ± 2.16–34.23 ± 4.34, 1.62 ± .30–2.34 ± .52, and 0.14 ± 0.10–2.34 ± 0.59 Bq kg−1 with average values 0.74 ± 0.29, 237.26 ± 37.97, 25.06 ± 4.74, 1.97 ± 0.39, and 1.73 ± 0.33 Bq kg−1, respectively.
Nontoxic and less toxic hybrid perovskites: a synergistic strategy for sustainable photovoltaic devices 13-May-2021 A research hotspot for the last decade, organometal‐halide perovskites are now showing their promise in numerous optoelectronic devices. With power conversion efficiency (PCE) greater than 25%, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are approaching the status of popular monocrystalline silicon–based solar cells (SCs). However, the presence of a bioaccumulative lead (Pb) in these perovskite compounds hinders their scalability and commercialization. The endeavor on nontoxic alternatives has triggered a new field of perovskites where Pb has been successfully eliminated.
Optimisation of user-selectable volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) planning parameters: VMAT arcs for prostate and head-and-neck cancers 04-Apr-2021 To evaluate different VMAT planning techniques for a multi-leaf collimator (MLC)providing maximum aperture of 21 × 16 cm².
Enhanced visible light photocatalytic properties of Fe2O3-doped carbon nitride-based organo-catalysts 15-Mar-2021 Fe 2 O 3/g-CN heterojunction composites were successfully fabricated by a simple calcinations method using iron chloride and urea as precursors. A specific amount of Fe 2 O 3 was incorporated on the surface of g-CN and calcinated at 400, 450, and 500 C to obtain series of Fe 2 O 3/g-CN (400 (1), 450 (2), 500 (3) C) composites. Characterization techniques were applied to measure the optical activities of Fe/CNx composites. The Fe/CN (2) sample showed a significant enhancement in the separation of photo-generated carriers under visible light due to the Fe coordination within g-CN. The composites were utilized for the first time along with parent g-CN sample for the evolution of H 2 source by water splitting experiment, as well as and for photodegradation of MB under visible light illumination (λ= 420 nm). Results demonstrate that Fe/CN (2) samples exhibit a remarkable photocatalytic performance in both …
