Mainwali: (Sunday, February 18, 2024):The 1st Convocation Ceremony of Namal University Mianwali as a Chartered and HEC recognized Degree Awarding Institute was held at Namal University Mianwali. The Ex-Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Mr. Ishrat Hussain has graced the event as the Chief Guest and Key Note Speaker of the event.

During the graduation ceremony degrees were conferred upon 115 graduates of Business Studies, Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering departments. A total of 13 students have secured academic distinctions including Medals and listing in Dean’s Roll of Honor. The Chief Guest Mr. Ishrat Hussain and Rector Namal University Dr. M. Najam Ul Islam congratulated the graduates and they both extended their well wishes to the graduating students. While addressing the ceremony, Chief Guest highlighted the importance of higher education for individual and societal growth and has expressed immense satisfaction on the quality of knowledge and skills imparted in graduates by Namal University. He had commended Namal University for its role in making higher education accessible to bright students from underprivileged backgrounds. Mr. Hussain was very pleased to know the fact that the current ratio of students receiving Financial Aid is 97%. To conclude he has admired Namal University for organizing a successful event.

During his speech Dr. M Najam Ul Islam Rector Namal University Mianwali has apprised the audience on the major initiatives taken by Namal University to improve the quality of education and promote a culture of research and innovation in students and faculty. He has mentioned that Namal University is set on right course to become a center of academic and research excellence and that all the necessary steps are being taken in effective and efficient manner.

The prominent dignitaries who attended the event included Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood Founder of Descon Engineering and member BoG Namal University, Mrs. Aleema Khanum member BoG Namal University, and Dr. M Najam Ul Islam Rector Namal University. The Senior Management of University, Faculty Members, Staff, and Students were also in attendance. The convocation was concluded with a photograph ceremony and lunch.
